  Saturday, July 12th

}   10:35a – 11:35a

  Assembly Hall – B

The Care and Feeding of our Mitochondria is how mitochondrial dysfunction is at the root of chronic disease and ways to address it with diet, lifestyle, and nutrients (this lecture includes a discussion of ketogenic diets, intermittent fasting, HIIT training, etc.)

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the mechanisms by which disruptions in mitochondrial structure, function and metabolism lead to chronic disease
  • Discuss the concept of mitohormesis and related strategies for restoring mitochondrial function, supporting efficient metabolic activity, and lowering the risk of disease
  • Review the potential impact of physical activity, dietary factors, and evidence-based dietary supplements on optimal mitochondrial health
