}

The incidence of cancer diagnoses increase with age. One in 5 people in the Western world are over the age of 65y and account for 60% of all cancer diagnoses.  Not surprisingly, over half of all cancer survivors are over the age of 65y. Several factors underlie the increased cancer incidence in the elderly. These individuals also have unique cancer screening guidelines, treatment considerations and treatment toxicities. It is important to gain an appreciation of the unique support priorities and strategies for this elderly demographic.
